EBR School District to Hold Community Forum, Dec. 11

The East Baton Rouge Parish School District has held a series of community forums for parent, student and community input and opinions in recent months on the district’s proposal to create four regional attendance zones for “families” of schools.  Now it’s the Northeast region’s turn.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, another forum will be held at Northeast High School, 13700 Pride Port-Hudson Road in Pride.  The meeting is free and open to the public, and it is essential that the Northeast community’s voice be heard as the school district works to redefine a cutting-edge School System that offers equitable and innovative programs to all students – no matter where they live – from Pre-K to graduation.

In this area serviced by the high school (grades 7-12) and Northeast Elementary School (grades Pre-K-6), he district is asking for input and feedback as it looks for ways to improve academic outcomes for students in the School system.  Part of the discussion will be to examine ways the district can broaden school choice options for students – regardless of where they live.
