BJT Ledet and Barbara W. Green will join 20 American authors whose titles will showcase internationally in the UK this week.
In less than ten days, two Louisiana authors–Barbara W. Green and BJT Ledet–will have their books showcased internationally at the United Kingdom’s largest book fair in Olympia, London, April 18-20.
Their books–Secret Lives of Men (Ledet) and The Parent Anointing (Green)– along with 20 other titles will be exhibited at The London Book Fair’s booth 2D60 where representatives from T. Jones Media and its imprint Novel Day will negotiate translation and international rights on behalf of the authors.
“The London Book Fair is heralded as the second largest book fair in the world. We are super excited about the opportunity to not only exhibit and introduce our new imprint, Novel Day, but also to showcase so many amazing authors whose work will be introduced to new markets from literally around the world,” said Traneisha Jones, founder of T. Jones Media and native of Baton Rouge.
According to The London Book Fair, the entire international publishing industry is represented, from the giant houses we are familiar with to the smallest independents, including publishers of blockbuster novels and academic texts and the producers of children’s books and graphic novels.
While U.S. literary agents will be talking up works by Matthew McConaughey, Lisa Scottoline, Jesmyn Ward, Kerry Washington, and others, T. Jones Media will give voice to the 22 Black American authors whose independent titles will be showcased in the exhibit.
“This opportunity for our authors to share their messages of hope, inspiration, and education on a global scale is of utmost importance to us,” said Dawn D. Owens, founder of The Owens Publishing Company who has partnered with T. Jones Media to showcase her authors’ books. “This partnership has not only opened the door for worldwide exposure to new audiences, but has laid the groundwork for international relationships to be built and nurtured for years to come.”
